Jim has primarily practiced in the general field of personal injury law for the last 27 years helping clients recover fair and reasonable compensation for their injuries caused by the fault of others. He has represented clients with criminal charges as well as business clients with disputes that required litigation to resolve.
Jim's goal in all of these cases was to resolve the legal disputes most favorable to his clients. He obtained this goal by properly investigating and preparing the cases for litigation. He has settled cases before and after filing lawsuits. When fair settlements were not obtainable, he tried the cases before judges and juries. When trials did not resolve the disputes, he briefed and argued cases in the appellate court system.
Some types of cases he has handled include:
wrongful death and survival actions,
Louisiana Workers' Compensation Act claims,
Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act claims, and
Social Security Disability claims.
